The Searchlight is a decorative block that's only available if you purchase the Warfare 2 Pack DLC. You can build equivalent functionality without DLC blocks by combining a vanilla spotlight, a rotor, and a hinge with an automatic Custom Turret Controller.

Usage

It's an articulated spotlight that can rotate horizontally and swivel up and down. It behaves like an automatic turret in that it is able to track targets at a limited range. Use it to automatically provide light for friendlies at peacetime — or to spot enemies at wartime.

• Regarding its illumination capabilities, it comes fully equipped with all the standard spotlight features, including custom light colors, blink settings, intensity slider, etc., so see there for details.

• Regarding its automatic aiming capabilities, it offers the same options as turrets: It can shine a light at incoming meteors and missiles (although, realistically, this is futile), large ships, small ships, characters, stations, and you can focus on neutrals, friends, or enemies.
