The (small) Hydrogen Thruster is a thruster designed to run on hydrogen. Also have a look at the Icon Block Large Hydrogen Thruster.png Large Hydrogen Thruster.

You can build the Icon Block Industrial Hydrogen Thruster.png Industrial Hydrogen Thruster variant of this block (same recipe and functionality) if you have purchased the Heavy Industry Pack.

Usage

The advantage of Hydrogen Thrusters is that they work equally well in atmosphere as in space. Their disadvantage is that they consume fuel at a very high rate, and the necessary hydrogen tanks are bulky and explosive.

It does not consume power, but the Icon Block Hydrogen Tank.png Hydrogen Tank or Icon Block O2 H2 Generator.png O2 H2 Generator do need power to supply fuel to the thruster through the conveyor system.

See Hydrogen Thrusters for general usage info including fuel consumption.

Construction

The Hydrogen Thruster has one conveyor port on the side opposite the nozzle. The thruster requires Hydrogen to operate and can receive it through a powered conveyor system from a Hydrogen Tank that is set to not stockpile.

For example, use 2x six small thrusters as reaction control system (RCS).

As all thrusters, (small) hydrogen thrusters cause damage to blocks up to 3 blocks length in front of the flame.
