Countless Pre-Built Ships and rovers are built into the base game, preloaded in Custom Games and Scenarios, or purchasable in Trading Outposts.

These vessels provide PvE and exploration content to players who can study the varied designs to get new building ideas. In creative mode, aim at any vehicle you encounter and press CTRL key+C key to copy a vessel. In Survival Mode, press CTRL key+B key to store it to your blueprints.

Standard Vessels

Big Blue
Big Red
Respawn Pod

These standard ships are provided to the player as starter equipment in various Custom Games. Some of the large vessels provide a Medical Room where the player can respawn, while the small utility vessels help you get started quickly with a Survival Kit. Feel free to learn from them, modify them, or take them apart!

Large Ships Small Ships

Atmospheric Craft

These VTOL vehicles (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) are atmospheric craft designed for planetary surface flight in gravity. In Space Engineers, these vehicles are in the same role and purpose as Aircraft and Helicopters. They are provided as starter vehicles in Custom Games.

Purchasable at Economy Trading Outposts

Burstfire Bomber and the Cursor

You can "purchase" the following ships in game from the NPC Trading Outposts that are owned by one of the builder factions. Instead of fighting, you have to earn Space credits by completing contracts to obtain these ships.

Cargo Ships

Military Escort

These NPC ships spawn only when you have the Cargo Ships option enabled. They fall into three categories, which can be identified by their color scheme and themes of both construction and naming. They provide exploration and PvE content, meaning that defensive turrets on these ships will automatically open fire on any players and their ships that attempt piracy.

Trams and Shuttles

SOTF Shuttle
SOTF Shuttle

Several trams and shuttles for civilian transportation in asteroid bases are showcased in the Sparks of the Future Scenario. They demonstrate Timer Blocks in conjunction with the Autopilot, and the use of artificial gravity in public transport on asteroids.

All-Terrain Vehicles

ATVs are wheeled vehicles designed for maneuvering across the surface (and sometimes under the ground of) a planetary body in gravity. They include Moon rovers, Mars rovers, Scuttler ATV, cars, trucks, etc. You encounter them in Scenarios.

Jalopy Race Cars

The Dune Scout

The Scrap Race Scenario provides players with several wheeled vehicles designed for racing across the surface of a planetary body in gravity. They are equipped with a turret, a fixed gun, and a second gyroscope for automatic flipping.

Campaign Vessels

Campaign vessels appear in the The First Jump Scenario and are used as props for the basic story of the game. The ships follow the core mechanics of the game, meaning if you blueprint them, they are completely usable outside the Campaign Missions.

Wrecks and Random Encounters

You will cross path with dozens more ships --particularly ship wrecks-- if you enable Random Encounters in the World Settings.

Release Trailer Ships

Many of the ships seen in release trailers can be downloaded from the Steam Workshop.
