The 
Conveyor Tube is a part of the conveyor system.
Usage
The Conveyor Tube is used alongside several similar blocks to link inventories on a ship or station into a network. Once established, the conveyor network allows items to be easily transferred between blocks and will automatically move items as needed.

Power
From release 1.196 on, power requirements of the conveyor system are not progressive based on length of lines anymore, but are constant 1W.
Construction
The Conveyor Tube is able to transfer items only in a straight line. It has mountpoints only on two opposite ends where the conveyor ports are located.
When intersections or curves are needed, instead use a 
Conveyor Junction, 
Conveyor Tube T Junction, or 
Curved Conveyor Tube, respectively.
