The Heat Vent is a decorative block that indicates power usage. You can only build this block if you purchase the Warfare 2 Pack DLC.
You can get equivalent functionality without DLC blocks by watching the power usage indicator in the HUD in the bottom right while being seated in a cockpit. Or you can use mods.
Usage
One side of the block is a light source. The intensity of the light source indicates the ship's current power usage at a glance. The other sides of the block are also decorative and give walls an industrial look with grates and small tubes.
In the block's Control Panel, you can configure different colours to indicate low and high power use. The vent slats are animated and automatically open in response to increased power demand of the grid, visually belching system heat, which makes them perfect decorations for a poorly lit reactor room.
