The Bed is a decorative block that recharges your suit power. You can build this downloadable-content (DLC) block only if you have purchased the Decorative Pack DLC. Any Engineers with or without DLC may be allowed to use the bed after is was built.
Usage
Apart from making a ship look more inhabited, the Bed's function is the same as the vanilla Passenger Seat's.
- The Bed can act as a powered Passenger Seat to recharge your spacesuit. To not run out of oxygen, place the bed in an airtight room.
- The Bed counts as seat during a jump.
- The Bed has a built-in Control Panel.
Visually similar blocks are the Inset Bed and Half Bed.
Inventory
The Bed has 400 litres inventory that can hold only Space credits and datapads. It has no conveyor access, so you need to interact with the Bed directly by pressing I key.
Construction
If Progression is on, you need to build an Interior Wall first to unlock it.
The block can only be built on large-grid ships and stations. Bed blocks have a floor and ceiling and one full backwall and are therefor airtight on these three sides. To be airtight, the block must be rotated accordingly. The full backwall has an airtight window.
Trivia
Without the DLC, players can equally rest and store inventory in cockpits, Control Seats, or Passenger Seats. Before this block was released, engineers rotated Passage blocks 90-degrees and used them as non-functional beds.
