Neon Tubes are decorative blocks that can be painted in all colors. You need to purchase the Sparks of the Future Pack DLC to be able to build them.
Usage
The small-grid blocks are single tubes and the large-grid blocks look like three tubes next to each other. Neon Tubes technically do not produce any light that would brighten their environment, they are only emissive lights.
They cannot be turned on or off, and they will always glow as long as they are on a powered grid.
- Unlike lights, the color of the Neon Tubes' glow is not set in their Control Panel. Instead, set the glow color by painting the block.
- Neon Tubes will not glow if painted black, which is useful for making them look like decorative pipes or power lines.
Neon Tubes are an example of a block with build stages that are of interest for decoration. If the blocks are not welded up in Survival Mode, or if they are ground halfway down in Creative Mode, only their metal clamps remain. Unwelded blocks are more fragile, but offer subtle mount points to hold neighboring blocks, allowing you to place window panes or thin panels where they could not be placed otherwise.
Construction
Neon Tubes come in both small grid and large grid variants in 11 large (and 10 small) different shapes. Similar shapes distinguish themselves by their orientiation (centered or side).
