Ammunition

The various ammunitions for weapons make up the majority of the consumables category. All ammo recipes (except Icon Item Small Railgun Sabot.png Small and Icon Item Large Railgun Sabot.png Large Railgun Sabots) rely on Icon Item Magnesium Powder.png Magnesium Powder and all magnesium-based ammo (and ammo containers) explode when shot at or grinded.

Despite the respective weapons themselves being buildable earlier, Icon Item Small Railgun Sabot.png Small and Icon Item Large Railgun Sabot.png Large Railgun Sabots, Icon Item Rocket.png Rockets, and Icon Item Artillery Shell.png Artillery Shells are late-game ammunitions that additionally require Icon Item Uranium Ingot.png Uranium Ingots in their recipes.

How to obtain ammunition

You create ammunition in the Icon Block Assembler.png Assembler, Icon Block Basic Assembler.png Basic Assembler, and Icon Block Survival Kit.png Survival Kit. While it is possible to produce ammunition in the Icon Block Survival Kit.png Survival Kit, it is limited to production of Icon Item S-10 Magazine.png S-10 Magazines, so check your Drop Pods' seat for an emergency stash.

It's good to know that you can create early-game ammo and weapons (Icon Item S-10 Pistol.png S-10, Icon Item S-20A Pistol.png S-20A, Icon Item MR-20 Rifle.png MR-20, Icon Item MR-50A Rifle.png MR-50A) already in a Icon Block Basic Assembler.png Basic Assembler.

If NPC "Cargo Ships" are enabled in the World Settings, ammo can also be found as random loot in the cargo containers of various Military ships.
