In Space Engineers, Triton is an icy terrestrial planet and a relatively easy start location. The ambience music is alien, dangerous, and mysterious.

In space, you recognise this medium sized pale-white planet because it has no moons, similar to its orange desert sibling Pertam.

Since the free Frostbite update, Triton is included when you create a Sandbox Game based off the Star System template. Every Engineer can land on the planet and play on it without purchasing the Frostbite Pack DLC.

Terrain

Snow and ice are abundant across the whole surface, making it an ideal location for hydrogen production. You will find large ice lakes, rolling snow planes, and a few tall snowy mountains here.

Atmosphere

Triton does not support any native fauna or flora, however, at most altitudes, the oxygen atmospheric density is just enough to be breathable for humans. The Weather is freezing and mostly snowstorms and fog.

DLC content

The Frostbite Pack DLC contains the Frostbite scenario, a challenging multiplayer adventure which is set on Triton. Only those who have purchased the DLC are able to spawn Triton manually into pre-Frostbite-update worlds. Neither the pasted-in planet, nor the Star System-based games that contain the planet since the Update, contain the NPC structures from the scenario.

Trivia

In real life, Triton is the name of the largest moon of the planet Neptune.
